What is this?

This is some kind of sensor that might be causing my alarm to go off. Originally I though it was a hood sensor, but I am told the actual hood switch/sensor is built into the latch. Also, someone tapped into it and ran a wire back to the remote start box.

Any ideas?

that is not your hood sensor, hood pin switch is build inside the hood latch itself

by the way the plugs look in the 3rd picture almost looks like a vtec solenoid not sure though

ive scanned most of acuraparts247's pics and i cant find the part...

Ok, thanks BrakeJob dude. I thought there were a bunch of motorheads that would instantly recognize that thing. Guess not!

Problem Solved.

Still don't know what that part is but found that was not the problem. It was the hood switch (a microswitch) inside the latch assembly. Disconnected it for now as it is corroded and not working.

If anyone identifies that part though...would be nice to know
