I've had a problem for about the past 6 months that's driving me crazy, and no dealers can figure it out.

Basically, when my car is parked and off, there's a strange vibrating sound every minute or two that lasts about 5-10 seconds. It seems to come from the back left of the vehicle, near the gas tank and trunk. It kind of sounds like the sound a vehicle makes when it does its own balancing after being parked. It's not that loud, but I hear it in my garage or on the driveway. The dealers in Austin are next to highways and can't hear the noise in their shops. ANY assistance is appreciated!!

Have they looked at the fuel system back there (gas lines, vent lines, etc)?

Thanks for your thoughts.

They haven't checked that because they haven't heard the noise, but maybe I just need to push them to examine all of that. Some told me there is a gas syphon that might make the noise. Does that make any sense?

It's normal!
Don't fret: It's normal. There is a good explanation of it on one of the Acura dealer's websites, but I can't find it right now. But it is something to do with fuel vapor recovery....
The first time I noticed it, I thought it was a cow mooing off in the distance....

That's exactly the sound! I'm surprised the dealers didn't know what I was talking about. But should it happen every minute or two? I don't know any other car that does it.

I had the same issue with my 96 Accord coupe. The dealer and the local mechanic both said the same thing that its normal and had something to do with fuel vapor...
The noise was always there but never caused any problems whatsoever.

it has something to do with the gas... When im on the gas light and i turn off my car it makes a weird seat reclining noise that you can hear from the outside.

Yes, the "seat reclining" is another way to describe the noise. It sounds like this problem is common, but not normal.
