When the car is parked and I shift into D5 like 1 second after the car shifts into D5 it jerks and then goes. It feels like it just grabbed into gera kinda late this only happens on when put in any D position. Just wonderin what do you think it could be. Its a 2000 TL 138 000km on it. Front ball joint and bearings where replaced not long ago.

I have the same probllem right now, and there only 105 miles on my new tranny (warranty replacement) I had the motor mount replaced at the same time. There is a loud clank in the shifter column area too, but only when I put it in park...

 

the loud crank sound is normal. even my newer 03TL does that. my 99TL is really loud though and it feels like the engine is rocking back and forth (which is why im getting my mounts replaced).

it could also be that you didnt go to a complete stop when reversing and going into drive.

also during cold weather the tranny does that. including revving kinda high when going into next gear compared to other times
