Post weight loss

i took out all the plastic cosmetic trims in engine compartment, spare tire, and trunk floor lining to lose a total of 50 lbs. maybe its all in my head, but i thought the car is more responsive at low speed this morning.
any other ideas about losing weight without sacrafice functionality?? BTW, i lost 20 lbs. over the last three months, so that's no longer a viable option.

Do you know what air is? Its 78% Nitrogen. Helium is used since Hydgrogen shouldnt be used unless you want your car to look like the Hindenburg Helium is lighter than the normal air(Nitrogen) thus, you save on weight. Not to mention, lowering rotating mass one pound is about equivelent to loosing 4 pounds off your car.

changing ur rims from our ~25lb. ones to racing 14lb ones will reduce an insane amount of weight because its unsprung.. figure at least several hundred pounds. u can also change ur hood to a carbon fiber one and save about 50lbs on that. they have them available for the TL.

The Hindenburg's record was really, really good (at least until the last run into Lakehurst, NJ). The Humanity!!! Even then, New Jersey had a seamy reputation. A previous post had requested a Zeppelin finder as a much desired option missing on the Acura.

Uhh, I don't have any suggestions, but I would think removing your spare would not qualify as "losing weight without sacrificing functionality". You WILL need the spare if and when you get a flat, not that you didn't already know that

Cool

I hear if you take the regular air out of your tire and fill it with Helium, you will loose atleast 10lbs...cause it lighter air and gives your car lift Strip the paint and primer off too..cause that adds unwanted weight. Put a layer of slick50 on the outside to resist drag. This is the cheapest way to increase speed.

COmptech exhausts! You wouldn't believe how heavy the stock mufflers are. The Comptechs are solid stainless but lighter than stock. No exact figures though.

Also only keep 3 gallons of gas in the tank an you'll lose about 100 lbs.

well, there ain't much you can do without scarfice something!!!

If you want, you can

1.take out the rear seat
2.take out the system
3.change all the glasses to plastic ones that is operated manually......

that will save you another 200 lb I guess
