Weak Homelink?

Is there any way to increse the range of the stock homelink. It gets progressivly weaker latly. I have seen other homelinks that do the same thing but they just need a new battery, but ours is hard wired right?
thx in advance

Yeah I noticed my TLs only works a couple houses up where as my dads car will work from the top of the street which is probably 10-15 houses up so I think it just depends.

Mine has always been stronger than the actual opener that came with the garage door

Heck, I'd take a weak Homelink over what I had happen just this past weekend.

Picture this. I'm in my 03 TL-S (500 miles over my 50K warranty). As I come driving up to my house I notice the garage door is opening. About half way up, it starts closing....I pull in the driveway and turn off the engine. The door continues to cycle until the motor in the garage door opener shuts down due to the thermal override protection circuit.

I look up, the Homelink light/LED is off. I push the button. The light/LED illuminates. I think: Just then, the thermal protection circuit resets and the door starts doing the tango again....finally, after a minute or so of this, on a downwards cycle the door closes.

For giggles, I start the car up and back the car up and the door starts to open. Homelink light/LEDs are still off....

So, I follow the procedure to clear the Homelink codes (hold outer 2 buttons until LED blinks). Doesn't help. I don't need my garage door open exposing my race car and tools to the nearest hack....

Yes, my wife and son were in the car with me so they weren't messing with my head.

At this point I have unplugged my garage door. I plan to go in and change the code on the door opener itself - but this is retarded and the Homelink is useless for me now.

<Off topic> This on top of the fact that I was hit-and-run at McCarthy Ranch, Milpitas parking lot (wasn't in the car, but LF fender is tweaked) made Sunday a wonderful day.

edited for speeling....
