Illumina is adjustable from 1 to 5 (stiffest)

Blue are around 2.5-3. Non-adjustable.

As a note, I run mine (Illumina + HR 50103) at 3 pretty happily.

wat is the ideal cruising ride setting? cuz if the blue is 2.5 to 3 and 3 is ideal there is no reason to get the adjustable as i do not race.. wat do you think?

I think the Blues are closer to 1.5 to 2. If you do not race or drive your car aggressively, blues will probably work for you.

Blue

Since ur here in NYC, u might be better off getting the blue, not only do u not have to bother adjusting them all the time, the blues are fine the way they are and pretty good. I have them on my '97 Civic and they're better then the KYB garbage I had before them.

Yup, HP Blues are good, even with my H&R Race springs. No complaints here.

Correct, the Illumina's can be adjusted for both regular driving and for performance driving. If you don't race, occasionally do a little speeding, the HP Blue is good enough for you. If you plan on taking your car to the track and do autocross, then the Illumina would be the best choice.

why do you have camber kits all around?
did you notice an imporvement in ride quality after you installed them?.

Ride quality was definitely superior because you don't have to compromise on the camber settings. I prefer to have my car set up more precisely and want the flexibility of dialing in the camber. You will hear people on the boards say that with the comptech drop, you don't need camber kits because your alignment will still be in specs and there is a good chance that they are correct. I learned long ago that not all alignments are equal. The range for being in spec is pretty large when you get down to it. You can be within the specs and get tire wear or have a car that does not handle optimally. I've got a couple of good alignment shops that do not use the "Good/Bad" indicator lights on the alignment machine. A good technician is looking at the raw data and sets the car up accordingly. Since I'm the only one riding in my car most of the time, my alignment is done with my body weight sitting in the drivers seat to get a more accurate real world alignment. My car is more stable at speed, tracks well, handles the way I like to drive, and my tires wear very evenly.

I just like to do things right and not just at an acceptable level so I don't mind spending the money to do so. The front and rear kits are only worth around $250 and I installed myself. Spend $900 on a set of tires and the payback on additional tire life calculates to a pretty quick payback while getting the most handling out of the car.

I used the Tokico Blues on my 300ZX for years before I switched them to Illuminas. They are a great all around strut and recommend them if you don't need the flexibility of different suspension tuning.

Thanks for asking - sorry for the long winded explanation

The numbers adjust the stiffness of dampening and rebound.

Blue's will be more than sufficient for 80% of people but I actually run mine set to 1 in the front and 3 in the back. I find this to be the best combination of reducing understeer and for a balance of comfort and performance.
