water pump @ 92K miles?

Its the time for my 1999 TL to get the new timing belt and I wanted to ask you guys if I really need a water pump as well? The reason I asked is that I have a 91 accord and its water pump lasted 17 years and 170K miles. If my TL water pump lasts another 60 K miles(lets say around 150K), I would replace it along with my timing belt which they will be due any ways by then? so why replace now? I think honda water pumps are quite reliable and last much longer than 90 K miles? what do you guys think ?

Replace it, it's part of the service. If it goes you have to pay the labor 2x.

I think it's cheaper to do the timing belt and waterpump at the same time.

The serpentine drives the AC and alternator. The other is for the power steering pump. I had them only change the P/S pump since that is an interesting one. I did the serpentine myself a while back. Its a simple job.

There's good reason to do it now. If you want to save the coin don't but be prepared to do it later and not at a time of your choosing.

Like others said do it now. Whilt its most likely not needed its far easier and cheaper to do it now that you have the T-Belt off (Timing belt needs to come off to replace the H2O pump).

It depends how long you intend to keep the car, if you want to keep it for a long time, replace the water pump with the timing belt, if you plan to get rid of the car in a year or two and the water pump doesn't make anu noise and doesn't leak and you keep on top of the radiator coolant changes, then you can get by with replacing just the timing belt. It is also advisable to replace the surpentine belt and P/S belt at the same time but same rule can apply here too.
