watch out for rocks
A rear-wheel drive Lexus with no mud/rock flaps catapulted a small bolder into my windshield at freeways speeds. No preventing it. Here's the war wound:

Burning Brakes
I had a hole the size of a golf ball in the black mesh of my front grill thrown by another identical TL(less mud flaps) in front of me. It broke the plastic panel underneath near the hood latch too..
In either case, it could have been worse... all this is replacable w/o painting!

Dang....I can feel you man.. Same here. I've got hit from the small rock on the freeway about a week after I bought my TL. But mine isn't really that bad... It's not really noticable as yours.

A new dealer windshield costs nearly 1 grand.
A OEM windshield, identical in every way except without the Honda logo is under $300.
I got a OEM one with the OEM molding installed with tax for $311. I think they did a good job too, I'm just waiting for the glue to dry now. The inside of the car has that new car smell again. It must be all the adhesive smell. Is that just me, or do I feel a little dizzy.

Your insurance policy should cover the damage w/ no out-of-pocket expense to you at all. A bolt of lighting did the same thing to my mom's car. They had someone come to our house, fix it, and take the damaged windshield - all for free!

Replace that windshield before too long. The next projectile will find it much easier to pass through the glass if it is fractured... so the next picture of damage could be of you or a passenger.

Yeah, comprehensive insurance should cover all the repair cost, minus the deductible.
By the way, bebber, since you have new glass being glued on, make sure you open one of your windows a little bit at all times. This is to prevent pressure from "popping" the glass outwards when you shut the door until the glue dries.

Ouch!!!!!!!!
Nice tip Daverman, I never heard anyone mention that before, but it makes perfect sense. I dont think that just closing the door will cause enough pressure to do any harm, but leaving a window or the sunroof open a crack cant hurt.
