? For Wash 'N Wax
? For Wash 'N Wax
These mysterious surface scratches have showed up on my rims! It looks almost like someone took a wire brush and tried to scrub my rims. They are not extremely obvious nor look deep, but are there! I haven't hit one curb or used a brush on the rims, is it possible that this could have happened at the car wash? I've only used one car wash and my detail guy (who handwashes it). I did realize, though, that the car wash I've been using isn't touchless (it has that rag type washer system....I won't be going there any lonter).....could the scratches be coming from that track the car goes onto to be moved? Just from the description, do you think these scratches can be taken out? Or how to avoid more in the future?
Please help.
anyone else notice scratches like these on their rims?

I know what you're talking about - they're fine surface scratches in the clear coat. I think these happened "normally" from road sand and other stuff when you drive because of the way the wheels bulge out a bit.
The best thing to do is to clean each wheel and slather on a layer of good wax. This will get rid of the scratches, but also apply a layer of protection. It also helps keep brake dust from messing up the wheel surface.
