Post Vtec break in?

I got two opposing oppinions on this. I did some more reading around and on another board they were talking about not using vtec for the first 400 or so miles. The salesman I talked to said you can use it right off the lot. I don't know who to believe, the board seemed like the riceboy type and salesmen will tell you what you want to hear.

BTW, anybody have pics of a firepepper red one? The dealership didn't have any in stock.

Thumbs up

Check out the owner's manual. It doesn't deny you VTEC, but it does say avoid full throttle starts and driving at constant speeds. You and invold VTEC without flooring it. The VTEC system is not a wear-critical system, so don't worry about it. If it was THAT important, they would program your car's computer to lock you out until the car reaches 500 miles.

SHOTIME:
Do you own the network?? *LOL*
No, there is no break in period for VTEC. It depends on who you've been talking too. If you were in SHO board... their cars have higher redline. Their VTEC kicks in at a lot higher RPM than our TL.

Why are you selling your exhausts??

It was clubsi.com. I figured they don't know what they're talking about because they had kill stories with Vettes, Z28's etc. I'm not from super honda, I've got an SHO. Nice car, but Ford should have let Yamaha design the tranny too.
