VSA vs TCS

VSA vs TCS
OK, I give. What is the difference between Acura's Vehicle Stability Assist and the Traction Control System. TL has TCS. RL has VSA. The TL-S is supposed to have VSA. Looks to be very similar. Braking applied to control vehicle vs. intended path.

TCS is simply traction control. The car applies braking to the drive wheel(s) that are spinning faster than the other wheels. I believe it works at speeds under 25 MPH.
VSA, on the other hand, is like TCS but with a yaw sensor that enables the system to prevent lateral slippage as well. It can apply the brakes (and reduce engine power) to keep the car on its intended path.
A quote from the Acura website:
"Vehicle Stability Assist may not be the ultimate in artificial intelligence, but it's close. It's so smart, it works faster than a human brain can hope to. VSA works by controlling brake pressure, engine power or both to help maintain traction. Even if you take no action, VSA will reduce engine power and/or apply the brakes to reduce front or rear side slip. The system works in conjunction with the traction control and braking systems. Let's say you enter a corner and conditions are such that your vehicle begins to spin out, or "oversteer," the VSA automatically corrects the problem by applying brakes to the outside front wheel. This reverses the potential spin and puts you back on track.
On the other hand, if road conditions cause your vehicle to slip sideways, or "understeer," VSA will decrease engine power to correct the problem. If the side slip is not reduced, VSA will apply brakes to the inside front wheel to turn the car back onto its intended course. This reduction in "understeer" helps your vehicle regain traction to get you back on course."

I could have sworn it only had VSA.
