VSA stay on!
My 02 tl been acting when I start her up in the morning to warm up. The rpm going up and down, the engine is shaking. So I took to my machanic guy and when he took off the intake I saw the butterfly stay open with or without the engine running. So my machanic tool me that I need to change out the whole intake system and that would cost about $400. Then after a few mins the vsa light stay on and doesn't matter what we did, it still stay on. But here is the funny thing, we try to pull the code but there isn't any.
Can you expert please shine some light so I can get my baby back and running.
Sorry for the long post thanx so much for any suggestion in advance.

lets see if we can make sense of this:
Mechanic removed the Intake Manifold from the car?
Normally I would say clean the EGR ports in the manifold as they clog up solid every 75kmiles or so
Its not in the book to be cleaned, and most techs would never suspect it unless they know the TL engine probs
what was open that you saw? On the throttle body- its internal round plate did what?
and the tech said what?? new throttle body or new intake manifold??
DO clean the egr ports--see diy section
then reset ecu computor by pulling the CLOCK fuse on passenger end of dash for 1 minute
no codes at all? I would have expected multi misfire codes if it was a coil failure
How old are the spark plugs? ngk were used to replace originals?
120kmiles--done the 105 service with timing belt?
you ckd the VSA switch on dash- its pushed IN for ON which makes the light go out?
otherwise it should throw a code if on,,can mean many things
Other possibles are bad front or rear motor mount -those are vac boosted and make car run bad when fail
Have the electrical system ckd free at parts stores--low voltage throws false code lights and codes
take it to a shop with honda or acura listed as a specialty-look in phone book yellow pages for smaller ad- private owner shop

thats nice,, but totally unrelated to a car with engine rpm surge issues
those come from IACV, tb position sensor, ecu issues, map sensor,,
we need more info with answers to the specifics asked before
