VSA engages for no reason

Since today my VSA has been acting very strange. The system goes off whenever I accelerate from a dead stop (ie: stop sign, signal light). It goes on for about 2-3 seconds then stops and everything goes back to normal. It happens during ALL kinds of acceleration. The other scary thing is it also goes of when im braking, when I brake to a dead stop at about 2-3mph the vsa engages until the speed drops down to 0. This all happens during ALL kinds of braking.

The system does the auto check upon start up like normal, and if I turn off the VSA it doesn't duplicate the symptoms im having as stated above. I don't know if anyone ever had this problem before but would like to know whats going on with my VSA system.

your likely suspect is the wheel speed sensor- that toothed ring on the axles -behind brake backing plate- thats it- with a sensor and lead wire thats easily damaged
or corroded inside the wire and sending bad signal

A brake specialty shop will have the special code scanner to confirm problem
or you can crawl and look to see whats going on where

or try a parts store and see if regular scanner will come up with a code

for now turn vsa off

I had a strong feeling it was a speed sensor, thanks for the reply I will get it checked out asap, it's a bit of annoyance for now! Now for the CODE that you mentioned, I have no dash lights on, nor a CEL or a VSA (!) thats constantly on. The ! flashes when im taking off from 0, but never remains constantly on.

Ok so I have a similiar problem. My VSA and TCS lights are on. I replaced a wheel speed sensor as it was junk, and had my mechanic read the codes. He said nothing is coming up for these lights. Anyone have an idea of what might be putting these lights on?

if 1 was junk- its opposite side may be too- or the other end of the car

if thats not the problem, you may need a specialty brake shop or acura
there is a special code reader for abs - that normal scanner wont get and
those places will own the right one

call `acura care` and report the problem- they will tell you to take it to the dealer--but at least get a report started

did you try a system reset by pulling the CLOCK fuse on passenger end of dash?
put it back after a minute, the car goes into forced relearn

same result as removing battery neg cable, except this way you dont have to enter the radio security code

I had to brake hard for a light change today, once I stopped my VSA light and the red Brake light right next to VSA light illuminated and stayed illuminated. I turned my car off and then back on, and both lights are still illuminated. What do I do!?

One side was junk as it got damaged when taking it off. My mechanic red the code and the only one that was bad, was the passenger front. I will have to see what acura says, really don't want to pay them though. I may try pulling the battery to see if that works.

The VSA button only pushes in correct? It doesn't click for anyone correct.
