Voltage on the stock L E D in door?

Voltage on the stock L E D in door?
I was wondering if its possible to throw in one of those super blue DEI LEDs in the stick security LED spot on the door. From what I understand DEI wants it to be 3.5 volts. I thought it would be easier to ask and see if anyone knows before I try and rip it out and put a voltage reader to it. If it is possible how to I get to it? Is it a pain in the ass?

Yeah, you should be able to do it. ElegantTL did this on his ride. Run a search and you'll find his instructions. He used a Varad LED, so your DEI LED might be a different voltage. I'd check out the voltage with a multimeter to make sure things work out before you blow an LED.
