i have the viper 5901 and i needed the key bypass for the immobilizer. other than that you dont need anything else. its a sweet alarm. i got the window roll up kit on it and a proximity sensor

theyre both made by directed, 5900 keypad is a bit nicer imo, but both are also open to more problems. ive ran into some that run great and others that we have to completely replace. most of the time its with the keypads not responding to brain.

xk05 is more specific to our cars. id go with that just because it only needs one key to program ( bit easier to install). make sure they run the factory disarm in the drivers door. and enjoy

Unhappy

okay now i a bit confused i called dei and now they are saying that i need the canmax 400. It would allow me to control both doors and bypass the ignition for remote start up. So far i have called one other installer and they agreed saying that the xko2 is for doorlocks and that the xko5 is to bypass for ignition. And that the canmax 400 does both. Can anyone here comfirm what they are telling me im confused now i have three suggestions

stop calling dei....

canmax is a "newer" bypass module that directed is trying to push.

you dont need a module for door locks.

you can go with either one that is available.

canmax400 - one key program
xk05 - one key program, might be a bit cheaper in some places
pkall - needs two operating keys to program
556u - lose a valet key thats installed in the module and in your car at all times.

they are all going to do the exact same thing, they all let the car think that there is a key in the ignition to allow the car to crank. door locks are straight forward, make sure they run the factory disarm into the drivers door, and trunk pop if you'd like.

take it to a pro and let them handle it from here, stop over thinking this.
