I believe he is referring to the first thread fixedtl created with pics of his ride once the bodykit and fender flares were added on, not his first thread ever.

some of you have the wrong info... but anyways here some info for however wants it.

the acura tl is NOT a VIP car and never will be. as a matter of fact, no acura qualifies as a VIP car.

you CAN do it up with some VIP style, but even then, it still wont be a VIP car, im sure it will look bad ass though.

VIP style cars can range from mild to extreme.

if you wanna pull off VIP style on the TL... go low and go wide. slam the car as low as possible, add some negative camber to it, pull the fenders and throw some wide wheels on it. they dont have to have a lip. you can go with wheels where the spokes come all the way out. if you do go with a lip... it better be a nice 3" + lip.

that right htere will put you ahead of the game.

I agree, its very hard for our TL's to be VIP, for one reason, our cars are FWD which does not enable low offsets and a larger tire in the rear, such as the big body lexus', and infiniti's, which own the VIP scene

Short answer....NO

This is unfortunate since the Nissan President starts at a mere 8.4 Million Yen (roughly $81,000).

I personally experienced some of the VIP flavor when I studied in Japan and let me tell you, these cars were beyond perfection. I personally love the style.

i was curious as to what everyone thinks about the vip style out of japan? i know its mostly nissan and toyota that are recieving the attention, but i have seen a few acuras, i wanted to hear some opinions on that style on a acura tl type S its what i am thinking of going with.
go for it. Always nice to see someone do something different, and I personally think it would look awesome...our TL's have amazing potential to look very sporty or very luxurious so you choose your way.

BlackShadow's car, minus the rims has a VIP look going on. The only thing needed for the complete look for his car would be some deep dish 20's wich is hard to do unless you run Ron Jon Devotions, or get a 20 that has the center come out far and bends in towards the lip, it looks ugly.
