Lightbulb VIN etch the Headlight Lexan?

I've read so much about stolen HIDs lately, it made me wonder.... Has anyone tried taking one of those $15 VIN etching kits and etching their VIN onto the lexan? Maybe like toward the top where it doesn't interfere with the beam?

Or do you think it won't matter to the thieving scum?

it won't matter...they'll just file it down. get a shock sensor, thats probably the best way so far cause as sonn as they touch the fender the alarm should go off.

I too think that won't stop them, most of them are going after your ballast and bulbs... the Vin etched on the plastic won't do no harm to them...

ArN 2000 TL , if they really wants your light, they will still try, whether or not they got your lights, your front end will probably got more damages as they try to ran away from your alarm...

nothing to stop a thief but pray that they don't love our TL's HID anymore...... I think with more upscale cars got Bi Xenon, they probably going after those and leave us TL untouched ... well, Hopefully.

The bi-xenon is no longer upscale, you can get them in the Maxima, 350z, Saab 9-3, etc...

Bi Xenon means the high beams are HID also.
