Is it possible to tell the difference between a 2003 and a 2002 TL-S by the VIN?

The 10th letter in your VIN tells the model year.
1999 = X
2000 = Y
2001 = Z
2002 = A
2003 = B

It should start at the letter "A" for 2002, but i can't be sure.....mines a '99, low VIN #695

Uh oh

Now I'm concerned. I'm supposed to pick up a new 2003 model tomorrow, but the VIN has an "A" for the 11th digit (the 10th is a "3").

FYI not to get you nervous or anything but I have a 2002 tpye S and my 11th digit is an "A"

Just double check with the dealer if you are not sure. Or verify it on the car yourself

Th 11th digit is the manufacturing plant.

A = Marysville, OH

the 10th digit is the year.

X = 1999
Y = 2000
1 = 2001
2 = 2002
3 = 2003
