Which one did the TL replace?

 

The '95 model year replaced the Vigor with the TL (2.5 and later 3.2). The RL would later replace the Legend.

 

Yeah, and those were the years that acura lost its prestige. With the end of the legend came the end of the name. Acura could have been as big as Lexus.

 

Not necessarily true. Although the move to alpha-numeric badging may not have been the most appropriate, this was not the cause of sale slumps for Acura. The RL fails to compete with the likes of Lexus because it is taking too long for their flagship to gain RWD or AWD a huge downfall considering Lexus' LS has had it for quite some time now. The Legend was a great car but the RL is no worse. The switch from FWD to AWD flagship is taking Acura to long and they have had to rely on their entry level models to compete (i.e. TL/Integra-RSX). Not to mention the SUV race :yack:
