Talking

Mr. Hyde, the PS2 works perfectly with the decoder, I just showed SlickTL and his GF the navi kit today a few minutes ago, they loved it.

That's the setup I have, a PS2, navi decoder, RF modulator & Line filter.

Thumbs up

I want.

I'd probably hook my Dreamcast up to it...my PS2 is staying at home with me

What is the RF modulator for? Is this so you can get TV stations? Am I correct in assuming that I can plug anything into the decoder that has RCA outputs (laptop, digital camera, etc?).

I like taking things apart - problem is they don't usually go back together the way they are supposed to. Anyone know who could do a full audio/video install in MN (decoder thing, dvd player, maybe some speakers)?

Also, I bought my TL used and the Navi screen is all scratched to hell. Anyone have this problem? What can I do about it (other than deal with it...)

The only thing to do is get a new screen which will cost you a couple bills, otherwise try and live with it....you should have tried to have the dealer replace it when you bought the car (if it was like it when u bought it, that is)....

The Rf Modulator allows to you to hear the DVD movies/games etc through your stock speakers. It works exactly like cd changers for cars that do not have cd changer controls on their HU's. The sound is broadcasted on an Fm station that you tune to on your radio.

Those stations are either 88.7 FM or 89.1, there should be a switch for you to choose on the Modulator itself.

Hey Andrew, how's the installs going? Haven't from you. I guess you haven't finished yet.

The decoder was orignally bought from SteveStMS, for $190. Then I bought the Accele RF Modulator from StreetEffectz for $75. His installation price was $100 or $150, forgot, I paid him so long ago.

The line filter which was also from Accele Electronics, which you can pick up at any local stereo shop for about $15 bucks. So everything not including the PS2 cost about $400-500.

Haven't finished as I haven't started... Delay caused by business trip to Netherlands (where I am right now). My lucky little sis comes home from college to her big bro's new ride while I'm out of the country for 3 weeks. I'll be home Wednesday night. I only have the plugs to put in. I plan on getting all scientific by doing some 0-60 runs before and after I put them in, and ending the plug-no plug debate (at least in my mind). I'll let you know - thanks for checking in on me...
