Does anybody know whats going on about the movement to recall the Transmissions, My 99 TL tranny finally gave out and i missed the warranty buy 2,000 miles. And all you guys with 2002 and 2003 TL's need to start being cautious also, because more more of the later maodels are going into the shop for there Tranny's, basically im just looking for info on the Tranny situation?

 

There will be no recall.
There is an extended 7yrs/100k miles warranty for the trans on the 99 TLs.
The trans. problems is old news on this forum.

 

They will only give you a new trans if you need it, right? If so, I'm gonna have to start fvcking with my car so that it blows-up I guess

 

is your tranny working fine? If it is, that is one of the stupidest things i have ever heard. If it is fine, you may have one of those anomalies that is "bulletproof"

 

right then you get one of those horrible dealer tech that will screw something else up while installing the new trans. and its not cover under the 7yrs/100k miles powertrain warranty. You know the saying, if it isn't broken don't fix it. Well for you, if it isn't broken don't break it.
