Exclamation v1 vs escort 8500

im debating if should get the escort from ebay for 220 or the V1 for 320, theres a 100 dollar difference so i want to know which one is better and is it worth it to dish out a hundred extra dollars for the V1

Having owned both, the sensitivy is about equal however the directional arrows on the V1 are well worth the extra money.

I have V-1 also, but this has been discussed many MANY times. Either way, you cant go wrong with V-1 or 8500. I personally like the V1 over the 8500 because the inner components of the V1 are shielded, i think it looks nicer than the typical detector, the arrows and bogey counter are easy to read, and the logic modes come in handy. Escort has a few of these features as well, but i like the way the V1 presents them better.

Go V1!!!!

oh no..not this again! Since everyone went with the V1, I'm gonna say the 8500. But not just for arguement, I really like the 8500 better, the V1 is ugly looking.

here in Maryland, most cops use Laser. In this case, you'll get caught with either one. Radar detectors pick up Laser, only after you've been clocked by the cops!

Just like we defend our TL, we also defend our radar detectors....
Personally, I have a V1; love the directional arrows - once you have them you will never go back.

Both the 8500 and V1 have great range and sensitivity. If using either the 8500 or V1, it should pick up the cop that's hiding if using a gun..and since you're on the open road..it shouldn't be to hard to determine where the radar signal is coming from. The only advantage the V1 has are the arrows. :p

both are going to pick them up about the same time. my 8500 was a little better at picking them up than my V1. the ONLY thing i liked better about the V1 was the arrows. other than that i liked every feature on the 8500 better

That is not a bad price on the V1 if it has all the latest upgrades.
