Using SS on TL-P question

When i'm in sportshift in 1st gear, when I hit around 3500 RPM, it automatically shifts up to second gear...I have an 03 TL, anyone else have this problem? Can i fix it?

did the car come with a manual? u should read it!

00-03 will automatically shift in 2nd gear, you dont have control over that.

Yep, thanks to the stout structure of the 4-speed unit.

The 5-speed is basically an extra gear slapped onto the side of the 4-speed unit. If the 4-speed unit weren't so weak, the 5-speed would've been fine.

I agree.... don't get me wrong Pure Adrenaline bec. I really like the style of the 00+ TLs specially the S-type but if the 4 spd is weak I guess its not bec. it cannot handle an upgrade from a 5 spd like you just have said. IMHO it was really intended to be a 4spd and Acura wants to get away with more $$$ profit by upgrading the 4spd with less $$$ cost.

Who has headrests that tilt? Not in my 02 TLS.. I wish I had that option. Unless I'm just not pushing down to the point I think I'm going to break it off.... Or this maybe a 03 thing.

my only reason for 2000>99

and a better 0-60 time and better acceleration

^^ Yeah, cuz you have a Type-S. Type-S headrests look nicer, but they're less comfortable IMO, and don't tilt.

less known problems cause there is only 1 year with them. 5 speed > when working right, much better gearing
