I was wondering....if i want vtec to kick in, do i wait until the rpm almost hits redline and the i shift up?

The butterfly valves open at 3800 and i believe v tech kicks in at around 4000. So from about 3800 till red you will feel the sudden rush of power, like a mini supercharger. Its a cool feeling.
