upholstery question

The vinyl upholstery (2000 TL) near the rear passenger window control panel is beginning to split away from the plastic. I recall someone in another thread saying that sometimes the dealership will fix the problem. Hearing this leads me to assume that some other people have had similar problems. If so, what did they do to fix it? My car is past warranty so I’d have to get it fixed myself. This is happening on all 4 doors, but the rear passenger is the only one that is actually part, the rest just looks like it is starting to come off the plastic. Any suggestions?

absolutely nothing you can do. you have to replace the entire panel. if you're out of warranty, ur shit out of luck.

check junk yards to try to find used replacements. i got mine off ebay for $40. just need to keep looking...

A cheap quick fix might be gorilla glue. Be very careful if you use it, it is the strongest adhesive on the market. put some there and press very hard to make sure it is flush. Sit there for about 3-4minutes and the problem should be fixed. I know its mickey mouse but it will work and make problem look non existant for the most part, either that or get new panel, but if you are going to get new door panels why not try this first. What's it going to do make it look worse?
