ya looks like you need to replace that one - do all the mounts look like that inside? I know the front one has a rubber cover on it, so I havent looked at the actual mount

No the other mounts look fine. They actually look new. ACura replaced those for free last time they changed the tranny

The first time the tranny was replaced in the car (under warranty) they replaced 2 mounts (rear-I belive close to 33K miles). 20K+ miles later (second tranny replacement) since it is out of warranty, they would not replace another cracked mount (rear). What gives with these mounts? I was told a while back that sometimes to get to the tranny components the engine mounts must be removed or replaced...

If that is the case when the tranny is replaced shouldn't it cover the replacement of the mounts also? I am such a noob when it comes to cars... sheesh.

I really dont know man, I know I been taken both our acurars to the same dealer and the same service guy for the last 4 years. He is really cool about it. My 3rd tranny was replaced at 56k and he went ahead told them to replace the mounts to.

actually mine looks like your 2nd pic (new one) and doesnt have anything that could be loose - only the rubber part, but that doesnt go all the way around - are you sure your mount is really bad? I just assumed from all that crap in there, but I can tell there is no way my mount could look like that (unless dirt got in there).

Hmm, I thought the rubber was supposed to go all around. In the second picture of the first group, the top looked like it was definitely missing a chunk. But I guess that's the way it's designed. I never looked at the engine mounts up close.

ya you would think it would go all the way around - but it doesnt. I think his original mount really is ok.

I see the rubber seperating just a little, but its not to bad. Its not the most important mount, but at 50-60 dollars its not the most expensive one either.
