ULEV Label
First off, that is not bull shit, it is fact moron!! Secondly, unless you have a 99 which is alot slower then the 2000 and 2001 models which are exactly the same speed wise, yours shouldnt be any different then anyone elses. I dont know if you ever ran your car at the track but I did, and my TL (2000) pulled a 14.9. The 99 models tested at a 15.7 and the 2001's are the same as the 2000. So unless you have a 96-98 which is slower then dog balls, your car is no different then any one elses
Is there any diff in performance b/w LEV and ULEV? I'm in VA and I got ULEV on my 2001.

I am from MD and my 00 TL is a ULEV. I am not entirely positive as to whether or not the 99 model was a LEV or ULEV. The 2000 ULEV TL's stock time was a 15.2 (by Motor Trend) and the 99 TL's were a 15.7 (by Motor Trend). Now any one that knows about car times, knows that there is a hugh difference there. The differences that I know about the 99's and the 00/01 are that the 99's came with a 4spd automatic transmission and the years above (00+) came with a 5spd transmission. So what I am tring to say is that is dosnt matter weather it is a LEV or ULEV cause honda does not let there emission restrictions get in the way of performance. Does that help at all?
plus, if you read your manual it should tell you what is restricted to make it a LEV/ULEV. As far I can tell the systems are very restricive with the exhaust, intake, and PGFI. But I am not a Honda mechanic and I dont know everything.

hey jerky, dont dog the 1st gen TL's...theyre still pretty dope looking.
let me clarify this for all you ignorant TL owners...1999 models are designated as a LEV...while from the 2000 and onward, they tweaked some emissions control devices in the car, which now makes the ULEV designation, and NO the 2000, 2001 is not governed more than the 1999...hope this helps
what do you mean by governed? If you are talking about the speed of the car you are wrong cause the 99 model is alot slower due to the 4spd tranny, but if you are not talking about the speed of the car then I am confused and I appoligize...what are you talking about??

Yes all TL's have ULEV. It stands for Ultra Low Emmisions Vehicle. Honda has been making LEV for a few years now. They are soon comming out with a Super Ultra Low Emmisions Vehicle (SULEV). This system will meet California's 2010 emmision laws.
That's bull$hit!!! My TL is a LEV model TL and it has better pickup than the ULEV... The ULEV vehicles are "more" governed than the LEV's
... Depends on what mods you would wanna add that could restrict performance gains
