Ughhhh! Need Code for radio!!!
I just had some minor body work done to my TL after hittinga deer. When I got in, the radio did not work. It requires a code that I do not have becuse I boght the car used. Now the stereo needs to be pulled out to get the serial number in order to get the code. Does anyone know an easier way?????
Also, this morning my SRS light came on once or twice at first start and never came back on. Same with my maint. Req. light.

Look in the glove compartment or in the center console, there should be a sticker with a serial number on it. Take it to the closest dealership and give them the number. They'll look up the code for you.

To pull the serial number from the radio without removing it, power the radio "off", then press and hold the "1" and "6" keys, then power the radio "On". This will show the serial number on the LCD screen, at which point you can call and get the code from American Honda.
Dealership will tell you you HAVE to remove the radio, cause, well, they want the labor money. Which is smart for them, but mean to you.

is the sticker in the leather case for the manual? thats where it should be. if not you are more than likely going to need to remove the radio to get the serial #

I did the same and the first time I called I was told that it would cost me $150.00 to remove the radio and get the code...I then called again and demanded to speak with the manager and complained about the charges for something I should have...to make a long story short I got a call back after an hour and got my codes!

I tried all of that, they did not help. Three hours of phone conversations with Honda America and two dealerships and no codes, so I had it removed and got the code yesterday, whew!
I also figured out the maint. req. light is just to remind you to change oild and other maint, stuff, the manual shows you how to reset that. And the SRS light just does the flashing thing everyonce in a while and for the most part means very little.
Thanls for all the help anyways!
