Talking Type-S TL this spring!!!!!

I don't post here much, but I figured that for those that don't look at the CL forum, you might be interested in this little tidbit I just posted there.

Just got back from the dealership, and couldn't believe it was coming out this soon...... Yup, the TL will carry the Type-S badge in March of 2001! It'll also be backed up by all 260 horses that the CL's have..... As if TL sales weren't high already, this will reaaaalllllyyyy make those figures go up!

Sure hope its true. I have all my stock parts in the garage. 2001 TL-S with Comptech headers, body kit, and my 18" Racing Harts
I would get that blue that was at the SEMA show for sure, that color was amazing!
And if it had the 2 tone interior with the blue. OMG. Someone stop me!

I too can confirm a TL type S in the spring. I was at a dealer near Marysville, Ohio where they are built and the salesman confirmed that his customers who work at the plant told him that production is to start in Feb and will be a 2002 model. According to another eariler post, and my dealer in Dayton, ohio, the colors will be green, blue, black, silver and white (no red). I had a 2001 red/black ordered but changed my order to a black TL-S.

Dang, I wonder which blue it will be... I bet it's the Monterrey blue (it's offered in '01) Gonna look schhhaaaaweeeeeetttttt... I think my favorite color on the TL is the satin silver ('01) or the grey they offered in 00...

I think the chance for having TL-S is 80%. Honda people are smart enough to keep their best vehicle for the last.
2 chances that will happen:
1) Original owner will trade their existing vehicle for a better version coz of the power.
2) New customers will be impressed by Acura's performance/price vehicle and sure they will purchase them.

Result: Manufactuere makes money!!

I think new TL-S might even have wider on the wheel area to make it sportier and differentiate from 99/00/01 regular TL

Guess what? The dealer called me today to say "are you still interested in the 2002 TL-S, we're taking deposits". Ain't that some shit! I've been telling them that since last week. I inquired about my car and they would take my car as a trade in for $22K naked (take off all aftermarket stuff). I wonder if the current body kit will fit the new TL since I thought I heard someone say facelift. Hopefully no physical dimensions will change.

They sure did yake my money as a deposit. They order cars 90 days before they are built so I hope they will put my order in for the first of the 2002 TL-S. They think the price will be about 1500 more than the standard TL but I think that will be a cheap 35 HP!

Cool, this might be my opportunity to get a TL-S considering I am getting my car in March. Shit, this is perfect timing. Of course, I will be pretty happy with a TL.

Wow, only 1500 more? Well, at that figure I'd be wondering if you'll get a new interior like the Type-S with side airbags and such....

Question

So damn tempting! I guess we'll all have to sell our TL's and move on up. Since Soundspeed is looking at March, maybe AC can get a few more than trade in/ J/K..all of us want the TL-S! Decisions...decisions!
TL-s or MDX? nevermind, i think i'm gonna get a headache thinking about this...

I think Acura will release the TL-S around the time the new re-designed Lexus ES300 comes out. The TL-s expectedly will take the thunder out of the launch of the ES300....I could be wrong...

I have an appointment with my Acura dealer tomorrow to finally change out the SRS light. I will talk to them then about putting a deposit down on the TL-S
TLDaddy and TLon19's what did you think about the CL-S blue at the SEMA show. Should I go for that color if it is available ? Dam that was sweet!
