Type S shift knob doesnt fit TL-P ??

So I got a type S shift knob for my car because the regular black leather one i have looks worn out. I tryed to put it on and it doesnt fit?? the type s shift knob's hole is smaller? Is there anyway i can make the TL-S shift knob fit on my TL-P? If not anyone want to make me an offer on the shift knob because i will have no use for it if it doesnt fit.

Thanks

You can always try taking it back to the dealer (or wherever you got it) and tell them it didn't fit --- order one that will, and just pay the difference. That way you don't have to concern yourself with selling it, etc. I'm sure they'll understand as long as it still looks new and you do it soon. Usually, you have a better shot at doing an exchange (compared to refund) since the company knows they will still get your money... so if they hassle you for a refund --- def just go for an exchange and pay the diff...

If you have a 99 model it wont fit. The threads are different from what I was told.

99 TL thread is bigger then the 00-03 TL. If you want the TypeS shift knob, you will have to drill it.

Use a 3/8" drill bit and drill out the hole in the knob. Then screw it back on. You will reform the plastic threads when you screw it on, so be prepared to use some elbow grease.

Here's mine. I painted the TypeS emblem silver since I don't own a TypeS and most people would think it gay to have that knob on a TLP.

Just get a MOMO shift knob off of ebay, I got one and they are universal fit with all cars. Mine is a TYPE S but still it will fit in any car, cuz its just 3 screws that hold the knob in place in the form of a triangle. I dont know if I make much sense, but you'll see when you get it.

I got the Momo Combat Evo style, because I have a black interior, but they make it in the tan color too I believe. Just check this website, this is where I got mine from. They have other things too.

Momo Shift Knobs

Here is a pic of my knob and my interior:

Hey NYDesi80, Where did you get the blackwood pieces for the stereo, console & A/C? I've seen them for the gauges & vents, but not those pieces. Looks killer btw.
