hey guys i have a 99 tl non type-s and thinking of putting the type-S lip kit on, what do think? how much do they go for?

 

What's a type-s lip kit? All the oem lip kits are the same whether it's a type s or not. The only difference is the front lip. 99-01 has a different lip than the 02-03. It'll cost you about $1200 from the dealer and you'll have to get it painted because there aren't any left that are all the same color. Your best bet is to check the black market here.

 

be sure to not ask for the Type-S kit at the dealership, b/c you will recieve the wrong front lip.

call the dealer and ask them for a price on the front/side/rear optional underspoilers for a '99 TL. tell them color doesnt matter b/c if you ask for a specific one, they may tell you they can not get them anymore. so make sure they check all of them.

you will have trouble getting them in the same color as they are discontinued and do not produce them anymore.

check ebay also, as they sometimes have some deals pop up.

I really want to get a lip kit too. It's pretty clear the best option is to save up for the OEM, but the paint is the problem.

So the dealership sells unpainted lip kits, or just any color and you have to repaint to match yours? I've had a bad paint job recently (50+ year old company went out of business the day after they painted my car).

 

they only sell them painted. and like mentioned, they may have 1 or even 2 of your pieces in your color, but not likely all of them.

i bought my front in DEP, sides in FPR, and rear in TW.
the front and rear lips were painted for about $250.
