Type S IM and TB Complete!
Type S IM and TB Complete!
Well this is what i've been working on for the past few weeks, ran into a few problems, but i got everything straightened out.
I have an IMRC now!

The butterfly valve...

The RPM window switch...

and the manifold...

again...and yes, the wiring is messy, going to clean it up, it's just temporary.

Power gains are very significant...babied it for 2 days then floored it and it feels very nice. I'll try to answer any questions about putting it on, GreenMachine helped me out a ton so i'll pass the knowledge on.
The TB i got was bored out, got it from a member in the BM, I hand ported the intake horn with a dremel and cleaned it really well before i put it on, and i also switched out the lower manifolds with some Extra Honed ones i bought from CleanCL....Thanks man!

I can do a step by step DIY with no pics if you wanted me to, i don't want to take everything off again though. Maybe in a few months when i get my new Thermoblock spacers, the TLp spacers don't fit with the type S manifold, you have to get the type S kit because the bolts are longer.
It took me about 2 days to install myself, and a few weeks to gather all my parts. I don't think i would ever install this myself again though, mainly the lowers. It was a pain in the ass.
The manifold was somewhere around 300, the Throttle Body was around 200, and the lowers, since they are extra honed, were around 200 if i remember correctly, and the MSD switch was around 100.

The manifold, TB, and Lower manifolds were all bought from members in the black market, it would be a lot more expensive to buy all these parts new. The Lower IMs would be extremely expensive to do since you would have to buy a new set, then send them to a place that will hone them out, which would be quite expensive. Just takes a few weeks to lurk the BM to find the best deals and jump on them.

Probably in the latter part of June i'll try and get a dyno done, along with a 1/4 mile as well.
How significant was the gain that you feel? Was it like adding the header significant? Or Just more throttle response? I guess you heightened the Redline? That's what it sounds like with the RPM thing you added?

The car feels a lot more responsive and louder since there is more airflow...You can definately tell the power gains, when i floor it now it seems to throw me back more than it used to, headers didn't feel that way for me when i put them on. The gains are probably a bit more than headers.
I didn't touch the redline, the RPM switch just has a wire you attach to this blue wire which has an RPM signal. The switch does not alter the signal it just reads it and tells the manifold when to open.
