type s engine peak power
type s engine peak power
this might seem like an illogical ques, but ill ask anyways... im about to go up to pa. tommrow and wonderin at what rpm range will i see the speedo "fly." the type s engine specs 232 lbs. of torque at 3300-5500 rm and 260 hp at 6000 rpm, so will thw speedo "fly" at 6000 or 5500? o ya btw, im not crazy, im only gonna try this out whenn pulling away from a toll booth w/ sportsifht in 2nd gear, and let of the gas after i redline to take and easy on the 2nd-3rd problamatic clutch.....
p.s. i know this ques is kinda dumb but it could turn interesting, so answer anyway

once the vtec kicks in you will notice that the speedo moves quicker, but in general i think you find the 5-7k range to be slower than the 1-4k range on your tach. considering the peak torque is pretty low though (~2250rpm per my last dyno), i think that you may end up being more impressed with your 'off the line' acceleration.
i found that once i put headers in that the car moved alot faster around 6k rpm's.

way to contradict your selfto answer your question, stay in the peak HP range and that is where you will be the fastest.
