Two Q's.. *clunk* when steering and odd idle

Two Q's.. *clunk* when steering and odd idle
Heya,
Two quick Q's before i take the old lady to the dealer next tuesday for an oil change and a check up.
1) Occationally, when i steer all the way left or right (say, when wanting to do a u-turn or something), there's this LOUD metallic CLUNK from under the car when it reaches the end.. but it doesn't ALWAYS do it... Once i had it when the wheel was about half way turned, this was when standing still (engine running).. any idea what can be causing this?
2) Idle feels 'odd' ... i get this slight vibration, but it's not a constant vibration.. Car idles, vibrate slightly, normal, vibrate slightly, etc .. I have also had the occational near stall when idling (engine hot or cold, no matter).. any ideas on that one?
Oh, FYI, the car had it's last major service at 50000, and is now at 55000.. so, the oil has been in there for a little over 5000 miles. Runs fine in normal use (although tires will need replacing next spring).. Although i have a MAJOR 'cracking' sound in the dash somewhere
Car had a major collision with a 10 inch high curb about 6 months ago and was fully checked out and repaired by the insurance.. Suspension was bend quite a bit on that one, but is fine now.
