TSX Projector Retrofit

I have a spare set of headlights that I opened up and blacked out. Since I had them opened I decided to use the TSX projectors I've had for quite some time. I gave them to a local shop that does retrofits and he was saying that I will need a new HID kit to use with these projectors.

Do I need to buy a new HID kit or can I just reuse the OEM ballast and ignitor?

I will post pictures of the headlights when I get them back. Should be done sometime next week.

I'm pretty sure all you need is new bulbs, D2S. They should fit in the OEM harness.

I retro-ed tsx projectors and I ran aftermarket kit as well. It depends on how he is mounting it and if it sticks out the back. I guess you have to see how he did the retro. I just ran aftermarket because any leak would blow your ballast but like I said, it depends on his work

Yeah, thats what I was thinking. Where the bulb on the projector is going to sit will be alot farther back than where the OEM would sit.

What kit did you go with?

yea mine sits a bit back a bit from the front and considering how long they are, it sticks out the back of the housing so it was ez to run an aftermarket kit. I just bought a generic kit off ebay, over a year with no problems or leaks. Still have to adjust them a bit, been lazy cause its so cold, and i'm lazy

Haha, yeah its cold here too.

I took a look at your thread about your projectors. The light output and cutoff on the TSX projectors is simply amazing.

Thanks for the info, ill be getting a new HID kit once the headlights are complete.
