TSB for squeek and creaks
I just came across TSB 00-018 for squeaks inside the car. One of the possible source of the squeaks may be the door switches (4), plunger squeaking inside its housing. Models covered include all 1999 TLs and 2000s from VIN19UUA5..YA000001 thru VIN19UUA5..YA019628. Replacements should be made with switches made after October 1, 1999. (The date is stamped on the housing of the switch and coded with the first digit being the year and second digit the month.)
These switches indicate whether doors are open or closed.

Damn, i just checked my VIN and it is not within the range mentioned in TSB 00-018. I've been trying to pinpoint the source of the squeaks from somewhere in the back. Help! Any suggestions on where I should be looking next?

Dealer couldnt find Squeaks
I've had my freakin car to the dealer 4 times now, each time I got a loaner. They've taken everything apart and lubed all the seals. I still have a rattling in the rear of my car. Someone said it was the rear-wing windows, but the dealer said they were sure that was not the problem. Anyone else have any ideas?

It sounds like rubber rubbing on metal or leather against leather. It's very irritating. If I can get rid of the squeaks once and for all I'll be a happy camper. I'll try spraying silicon lube on the rubber cover on the door switches later and see how that goes.

I have a click or squeak that seems to come from passenger door or somewhere there. It is so hard to pinpoint and it is driving me mad. I am going to try this one. What exactly does it say is making the noise? The lock, the switch or the stick that you open the door with?

Here's the fix:
Take your car to the dealer, and sell it. Then buy a non-American car like an RL or any Lexus. That should fix it.
I was at the dealer today for the third time for the same problem (wheel shaking, not squeaks - but I do have squeaks), and while I waited in the showroom I made sure to tell the two prospective buyers looking at TLs the continuing saga of my TL's service issues. I then urged both guys to buy a Lexus instead. It was satisfying, in a crappy sort of way.
