trunk switch wont open trunk

i have a 2002 tl-s and the trunk button wont open the trunk. Anyone have any easy fixes

Will your remote open it?

Open the back seat arm rest... hole and pull the chord. Does that work?

Open the glovebox and make sure the switch is set on

Check for power at the switch and if ok then go inside the trunk and check the solenoid for the opener.
Maybe the latching mechanism got misaligned ?
