Weird thing happened to my trunk latch. A small tension spring which controls the latching mechanism became undone on one side.

This is preventing the latch from closing (no tension on spring, no way for latch to return to normal position).

Anyone know how to open the shroud covering the latch? It has a little bit of play, but doesn't want to come off. I'm afraid of breaking it.

I don't want to bring it into the dealership and possibly lose my car for a day. Anyone have a service manual?

This is for an '02 TLS.
