I know this whole tranny thing has been beat to death on this board but I guess I am just nervous after reading everyone's stories. I am leaving Thrusday for Christmas on a 800 mile journey with the wife. I have not noticed anything as far as the car hesitating when shifting into reverse, the dash lighting up or a spike in the RPMs when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. However, I do notice sometimes ecspecially when the I am drinvg downhill and I am slowing down it seems to downshift harder then I would expect, much like a rookie driving a manual would do. When people on here talk about slipage between the gears is it a hugely noticalbe thing or something that is very subtle? I do notice it shifting gears when drinving 20-30 miles an hour but it I don't think its ever missed a gear and the the RPMs shot up. The tranny was replaced before I bought the car and it now as like 59k on it. Can someone tell me if what I have is normal or the begining of the end of tranny #2?
