I been searching for awhile, and there is no diy rebuild guide for 2nd gen tl transmission; at least I didn't find one. I'm wondering what tools from the acura's "special tools required" are truly required to do a rebuild? I have read that some can make their own tools to make things work, just wondering if anyone has experience and share. thanks.

there is no diy here because its a major job--the `book time` for teardown and rebuild-once out of the car,,is 10 hours,,,,for a pro with all the proper tools

did you do a yahoo search and maybe youtube--there are a few gurus there with vids of other projects,,contact them for where to get a book?

I understand it has some critical bits during assembly--
things many shops doing their first TL have to do the rebuild 2-3 times before they get it right!!--a steep learning curve

side note-trans weighs 450 pounds--thats more than the average trans-
use proper jack for it--straps,,helper,,,ck your health insurance is paid..
