Transmission question

I am sure you all have heard this question before, but I an new to this board, so help me out. I recently bought a used 2001 TL has 70k miles. No maintanance records were available. I am reading the boards and noticing the transmission recall. How can I find out if my was taken care of, do I need to have a warranty to have it taken care, are there any costs I need to be aware of to get his done? Thanks for the help.

Mike

Mike,

call your local Acura dealer service department. Give the rep your VIN number. He should be able to pull up service records on the vehicle. The transmission on the TLs is covered
7 years/100,000miles. Or schedule an appt at the dealer for a transmission recall..or the oil injection kit installation. No out of pocket costs.

you are covered for the original 7 year 100K warranty no matter what # tranny you have. Its kinda unpractical to give a 7 year 100k warranty for every tranny, some would have a warranty for 20+ years and 300k miles!!! haha

exactly the warranty is only for the car. 7 years or 100k. if your tranny fails at 99,999 miles the tranny is only covered for the next 12,001 miles or 1 year what ever comes first
