Transmission Question
Hey, When I was looking under the hood of the preowned 2000 Acura 3.2 I just purchased I saw 30077 written in black marker on the tranny. Is that just a standard thing that is on all trannys or is that the mileage mine was replaced at previously? Anyone else seen this?
thx
thx
You should have gotten all the service records, and a letter from Acura saying you have an extended tranny warrenty for 7 years or 100,000 miles. Also - whoever you bought the car from should have mentioned if it has a new tranny. Me - I have a 99... and my tranny is wonderful, well... except when acura put too much tranny fluid in it and it slipped!!!
:wow: Take it back immediately and demand service records... they should have a lot of them, if not all of them. Or contact the previous owner of the car. I'd ***** the hell out of them for not giving you service records... I never buy a car without full books/records.
Interesting....where exactly was the number written? My tranny was replaced under warranty at 30k miles. I can look under my hood and see if there are numbers written on my tranny that match up to the mileage when it was replaced.

yeah, i'm sure the dealer did a 101 point check and there should be something that's written down, but if the car was as trade in and the previous owner didn't do anything or just didn't give the papers to the dealer, then it's hard.......

The number is written on the top of the Transmission and you can see it when you open the hood. I doubt they have the previous owner service records. I do know they checked the car over really well and changed anything that needed to be changed. The air filter is way too much trouble to change then it should be with 4 screws holding it in place.
