Question Transmission Question

I'm thinking about getting a used Acura Tl 99-02. The transmission problems sound really scary. Does anyone know if the 99's (with a different trans.) are any more reliablie than the 00-02 transmissions?

You'll get mixed stories. I've heard of transmission failures on all years of TL's before. Although agreeably, there seem to be a whole lot of reported 2002 type-s tranny failures, no doubt due to the extra power being shoved through the tranny.

Although the 00 and up have had more reported tranny failures than the 99, the 99's arent bulletproof. I have a 99 and have had 1 tranny replace with a new one on backorder because the second one is going.
