transmission problems please help!
I went to get my oil changed at this quick stop place and there they do all this other stuff like check all the other fluids in the car. After I got my car back, it seemed as if the the car was going to higher rpm before it switched gears. Also I had to get my car going faster than usual before it switched gears. The car just didn't feel right. Do you think they did somethign to my car? also how much does an oil change cost at the dealer?

The most likely hting that happened was that they used 20W-50 engine oil instead of 5W-30. The thicker oil would cause drag and effect the MAP sensor and delay the shifts. It would also cause the car to accelerate slower. Is this what is happening?

Hey KM, I'd have the dealer check it out for you if the change is significant. As for future oil changes, if you have your car at school in Berkeley, get it done at Doten Honda. I've trusted them with 2 accords, 1 civic, 1 integra, and even my S2000 and TL. Its a hike for me to get up there these days, but Jim Neilson, the Service Manager runs a tight and honest shop. I think an oil chaneg is like $29 and there may be a AAA discount. Always ask about discounts at dealerships. Good luck!

The MAP sensor is not affected by the viscosity of the oil. Much more likely they pulled off or damaged a sensor on the tranny. I hate those jiffy places - i have heard countless horror stories.
