IIRC from my AV6 swap:
Passenger seal = 7 bucks
Drivers seal = 7 bucks
Main Shaft seal = 10bucks

Since you will be having the AV6 in the ground makes no sense not to replace those before installing it.
Would you mind giving me part numbers so I can order them off of Rock Auto?

I also ordered the mount kit for an 03 Type-S, should have no problem with the trans mount correct, since it's direct bolt on swap?

Yeah the mounts are bolt on..

I don´t have the part numbers but I have the sizes and links:
TC Oil Seal (44X68X8) (Nok) 7.76 bucks
https://www.hondapartsunlimited.com/...QtYXV0b21hdGlj

Drivers Axle Seal Oil Seal (40X56X9) (Nok) 12.36 bucks
https://www.hondapartsunlimited.com/oem-parts/honda-oil-seal-40x56x9-nok-91205p0x005/?c=Zz10cmFuc21pc3Npb24tYXV0b21hdGljJnM9YXQtdHJhbnN taXNzaW9uLWNhc2UtdjYmaT1TREFBQTEyMDAmcj0yMCZhPWhvb mRhJm89YWNjb3JkLXNlZGFuJnk9MjAwNyZ0PXNlLXY2JmU9NS1 zcGVlZC1hdXRvbWF0aWM%3D

Passenger Axle Seal Oil Seal (35X54X8) (Nok) 8.40 bucks (Passenger size is different due to the Middle Shaft).
https://www.hondapartsunlimited.com/...QtYXV0b21hdGlj

You will have to order in a Honda Dealership, The seals must be for the AV6 Transmission so = Accord V6 2006-2007 Transmission from SEDAN or COUPE.

^ Yeah its the same info! the CL-S (AUTO) and TL-S are virtually the same drivetrain wise. So the AV6 swap applies and those seals apply to the AV6.

^^That's correct.

You should be good to go with the '06 just make sure the data tag on the transmission has BAYA listed on it. keep us posted.

So I pulled the trigger. Bought the new transmission and will be picking it up Saturday. The guy sold it to me for $675. It has a rebuilt torque converter already installed. Trans has 79K on it along with all the solenoids and everything. I think its a pretty good deal. Can't wait to pull the old trans and start working on this bad boy. Car has been sitting for like 2+ years lol

What year AV6 is it?
I tell you this because of the guy issue about the Torque Converter not fitting...
So having the TC rebuilt already is not really that much of a PRO if you get the wrong TC from a 05.

Were the late 05's BAYA ?

VIN off the donor car should tell the story.

IIRC MAYA/BAYAs are the code names for the Accord transmissions from 2003 to 2007.
More specific:
MAYAs = 03 to 04
BAYAs = 05 to 07 So technically 05 model is still a BAYA but got that TC that does not fit the TL/CL flex plate.
The issue is, the guy that had a problem swears he got a 06 model (VIN showed the car was a 06 Model) but seems that his transmission was a late build batch from the 05 model thus why the TC did not fit.. Once he got the correct TC from a 06 model everything bolted on.

I guess Honda built some last 05 models and released them as early 06 models thus why it does not match up to later build 06 models that got the new TC/Flex plate combo.

As a side note the Problematic transmission in the Accord is called "M7YA" same as our shitty B7WA.

Well now that you've got me thinking, what is the worst case scenario if the TC doesn't fit? I have only put a deposit on the trans since I won't be able to pick it up until Saturday, so I can back out if needed. Even if it is a BAYA trans, how can I confirm that it will fit my TL with no problems. Is there a sure shot way to confirm? Thanks in advance.

You could bring the flex plate from your car with you when you pick up the new trans. and hold it up to TQ to confirm the bolt holes line up. Even if it doesn't, just grab a reman TQ that fits.

Nope, since its a fitting issue you wont know until you remove the old trans and try to fit the New TC to the flex plate.

Well, that didn't exactly give me the warm and fuzzies. But what you're saying is even if I end up with the wrong TC, I can purchase another one and bolt that right on to the AV6 trans.

I wouldn't worry about it much, the chances of it not fitting are pretty slim.

Hey guys, I had the salvage yard send me over the trans code and here is what he sent over: BAYA-7072295. Hopefully someone can give me some assurance that this is the right trans after all.

I don't know if this helps, but mine from '07 was BAYA - 9057516. I was never able to find a chart that showed year/serial number range. I'm sure it's listed in the Accord FSM.

Thanks for the info. I am picking up the new trans tomorrow and should have the old one pulled by tomorrow as well. Let's see what happens!

Soooooo......I started working on getting the old trans out this weekend. I got everything out and unbolted. Now when it comes to separating the trans from the motor, that's being an issue. I was able to separate it to the point I can see where they meet and tried prying apart. I got it give way some, but it seems really really tight. Any tips on how to get this old trans to come off the motor? Any tips are appreciated.

The trans will rub against the side of the engine bay at this point. Makes it a real PITA. Lowering the engine hanger supports can help. Make sure whatever is supporting the trans is going to allow it to move away from the engine. I might have used a pry bar from each side, with a helper.

But also above all, make sure you absolutely removed all of the bolts between the two. Not just by looking, check them all off as listed in the service manual.

^^ agree. Double check everything is unbolted and there is some wiggle room between the wheel well and trans. you can lower the motor slightly. There are a couple of alignment pins that may be corroded a bit but other than that, it should split from the motor fairly easily

The half shaft will give you problems if you did not undo it....
When the Junkyard guys took my AV6 donor out of the donor car they didn´t bother removing the half shaft (Mid shaft) so the trans was locked due to the CV Axle pin that locks in the diff and has to be popped off from the half shaft.

I think that's it. I went through the service manual again and they noted to remove the half shaft bolts from the engine side, which I did not do for sure. I am going to give it another shot tomorrow as it is raining today Thanks for all your guys help. I really do appreciate this community, especially when it comes to big projects like this.

You'll thank yourself for removing the intermediate shaft when it comes time to reinstall

Yeah get that thing out of there! I don't follow the manual exactly, and instead completely remove both axles and the intermediate shaft. It only takes a few more minutes and makes it so much easier.

I'll second that.

I also removed the intermediate shaft, both axles, as well as the knuckles for even more clearance to work.

I did the same, but forgot the intermediate shaft. Didn't think I needed to remove it. Clearly I was wrong

Completely forgot to ask, but when I was removing the battery, I managed to break the terminal connector that connects to the batter terminal post. I broke the negative one. It grounds to the chassis and to the trans. Can any one provide me with the part number for this? Thought I would ask in this thread before opening a new. Thanks in advance!

Ok, so I finally got the trans dropped. After getting the trans down, I measured the TC and the original is 11.25in. On the new trans I got, the TC is 10.75ish. I may be a little off, but its clearly not the same. Do I need the 11.25 HO21 TC? Also, I ran the VIN afterwards and it shows up as a 2005 Honda Accord 3.0 V6. Now putting the trans side by side, they look the same. It is a BAYA trans which I have confirmed. Should I call the yard I got it from and return it or can I just order the HO21 TC and call it a day? Thanks in advance!

FYI: Your 2005 trans could actually be a 2006 trans. It depends on the car's production date on the VIN plate. If the month of the production date is within the last quarter of the year 2005 then the car technically is a 2006 Honda Accord.

However, if both trans are exactly the same side by side then that's not an 06 AV6 because the correct 06 AV6 has a different sub harness that needs to be swapped over from the TL trans.
