transmission compatability

I have a 99 tl and i just located a 2000 tl transmission for a good price and low miles but ive read that the 00-03 have a 5spd oppose to the 99 having a 4spd is there anyway around this will it fit can i reprogram the ecm etc?

It should bolt up, but you may have to get a new ECU. I don't think it's reprogrammable. Well not easily.

needs the right ecu- a different cutout for shifter to allow 5, the dash would be wrong

short answer=- no
get yours rebuilt- or junkyard? the 4 speed is a way more reliable unit than a 5
