Trans Problem!

I switched to mobil 1 blue top (5W-30) yesturday and them six hours later my transmittion started acting up. High reving and slipping between gears, real hard up shifts and really hard downshiftis in second and first. Could these in any way be related? I will be making an appointment to bring it into the dealer, hopefully this week. With such a radical change, i can't imagine that it is very safe. Anyone have a similar problem or suggestions other than taking it to the dealer. Oh, I haven't received my letter yet either.

there is NO way that they are related. it doesnt matter if you have recieved te recal notice. they will look up the vin to see if you are covered by it, but also odds are it wouldnt matter because odds are the part that failed in your tranny has nothing to do with the recall. there are 2 issues, only one of which is for the recall. but the tranny is still covered to 100k. (ive had 3 trannies die)

Thanks. I will be in there hopefully, this week. When the trans finally goes do they lock up and present a safety risk? I don't want to drive it, if it does.

Read the tranny threads here, and you will see that the tranny was going sooner or later.
If the dealer acts like you,re the first one, beware!
