Please forgive me if I sound like a noob even though I am one on this site! Was there a recall on the trannys for the affected TL & CL models? All of the posts about the trannys on this site that I came across did not mention whether the tranny was replaced at no charge or if the owner had to pay out of pocket. I'm convinced that I want to get either a CL or TL but I want to know if I should get a certified one so the tranny problem will be under warranty or non-certified. If Acura will replace the tranny at no charge because of the recall then I will get the non-certified one because it's less expensive! thanks for your input!

I believe all 99 - 03 TL have warranty on their tranny up to 100k. There is a recall for TL to get the oil jet kit installed.

Not all 2003's have the warranty extension. But I've already replaced a couple 03's not covered by the warranty at no charge to the customer - DPSM won't hesitate to goodwill one. They do afterall have the same trans. no reason not to. 100K miles/7 years no matter if you're the 1st, 2nd, etc. owner.
