I know its been discussed a million and one times but I scanned my car today to see why the check engine light was on and the code it gave me was p1738 (2nd Clutch Pressure Switch circuit). My question is can i solve my tranny problem by replacing the switch or do i need to get a new transmission.

 

Yea I had that code pop up too. Are you actually experiencing any transmission problems?

 

yes loud clunk at first start shifting from park to reverse and slipping

 

certainly worth cleaning or replace the pressure switch/shift selenoid for 2nd and 3rd if applicable

try 3 qts fluid change,,type F fluid,see if that helps
