I'm relatively new to this forum, having browsed for months but never posted. I've already had my tranny replaced once@ 58k mi. (another guy was there w/ a 99 tlp for the same problem, that's what led me eventually to this forum.) Anyway to my question. has any other honda/acura used this motor, and can the tranny be used from that car? I love this car and bought it to get out of my money pit DSM. I would really like to keep it but fear the tranny issue is going to be too much. maybe trade it for a third gen. TL.

 

it doesn't happen to everyone, if your really concerned, rebuild ur trannyy after 100k, because its warrantied until 100k by acura. I'm at 67k and going strong.

 

Or 160 k if your Canadian :wink:

Nope. Or atleast i should say thats yet to be seen, but even the supposid "bullit proof" ones have died
